PRESIDENT RUTO UNVEILS HIS NEW CABINET SHORTLY AFTER HOLDING TALKS WITH FORMER CSs
Technocrats, politicians, and former MPs are among the cabinet secretaries that President William Ruto appointed on 27 September 2022.
Some of the people mentioned helped him win the presidency by supporting him in his campaign.
They include former Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, the former Speaker of the National Assembly, and DP leader Justin Muturi. Former vice president Musalia Mudavadi was also on the list.
Mudavadi has been appointed as the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
The President in his appointments failed to deliver 50% appointments to women but was able to achieve the two-thirds gender rule by naming seven women to his cabinet.
Shortly after holding his first cabinet meeting with former cabinet secretaries who worked for former President Uhuru Kenyatta, he unveiled his new team.
