Land borders closed and vehicular movement restricted: Nigeria prepares for presidential elections with 18 candidates
The Nigerian government has closed all land borders and restricted vehicular movement in preparation for the presidential and national assembly elections on Saturday, which involve 18 presidential candidates.
The closure of the borders and the ban on vehicular movement from 12 am to 6 pm on Saturday, except for officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), electoral observers, ambulances, firefighters and others on confirmed emergency services, is to ensure a hitch-free election.
