Prisca Mwaro, the former wife of Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba, was found dead in her house in Nairobi on Wednesday, March 8. Her body was moved to the MP Shah Hospital morgue, and her cause of death remains unclear.
People close to her said she had “gone through a lot in the last three years” and “might have given up the fight.” Mwaro and Namwamba were married between 2015 and 2018 and were blessed with three children. Though they separated a few years ago, they were co-parenting, with Namwamba living with the children.
Mwaro worked as an administrator at KENGEN from 2010 and regularly posted KENGEN material on her social media pages. She held a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Human Resource) from the University of Nairobi, where she studied between 2013 and 2015. Mwaro had celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, before news of her death broke the following day.
Priscah and Ababu were blessed with three children, a daughter and two sons, and they always posted them online during celebrations such as birthdays. In 2021, Mwaro shared photos of her children on different dates, congratulating her firstborn daughter after she was voted a leader of her class. She also celebrated her lastborn on his birthday with a heartwarming message, calling him “an awesome creation.” Mwaro lived life to the fullest and often posted motivational quotes on social media, such as “Life is short…enjoy while it lasts.”
Before her death, Mwaro was not as active on social media as before and rarely shared much. Her last post was a video of her lastborn son playing play station, which she shared on Instagram on January 10, 2023. Mwaro’s sudden death came as a shock to her family and friends, who are still seeking answers as to what led to her passing. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
